With less than a week to go before we wrap our BOOM! Deluxe Pre-Order campaign for A VERY KLAUS CHRISTMAS by Grant Morrison and Dan Mora like a beautiful present under our collective tree, we’ve crossed $125,000 in pre-orders thanks to nearly 1,400 fantastic fans! We couldn’t be more grateful for the amazing engagement and support we’ve received over the course of this campaign.
One of the questions we’ve received from our community since announcing our $200,000 stretch goal is why the free first printing of the KLAUS: PEN & INK #1 will only be added to every physical pre-order of $200 or more, and not orders of a smaller amount?
The answer is a practical one. The original printing of KLAUS: PEN & INK #1 is 11”x17”, which is much larger than the beautiful deluxe edition hardcover that is the core of our campaign. We will be able to more easily package it with the multiple item sets that are available at $200 and more, and justify the additional shipping costs resulting in a physically larger package for those pre-order customers. Additionally, since the stretch goal promises a first printing of KLAUS: PEN & INK #1, which are already printed, we want to ensure that we have enough copies to fulfill this goal as promised.
With that in mind, let’s take a close look at two of the fabulous sets available at the $200 and above level!
At the $200 KLAUS SLIPCASE HARDCOVER & STANDARD MERCHANDISE SET, you’ll receive the stunning 18" x 36" silkscreen poster by Dan Mora recolored specifically for this campaign; a logo-embroidered winter beanie hat; a high-quality set of four official KLAUS enamel pins; and a very special set of five KLAUS Christmas ornaments, all produced especially for this campaign and valued at $120. Plus you’ll receive THE COMPLETE KLAUS DELUXE SLIPCASE HC valued at $100; and a set of specialty KLAUS art prints (8" x 10"), featuring the art of Dan Mora, Frank Quitely, John Cassaday, Humberto Ramos, Cully Hamner, and Chris Burnham along with six limited-edition KLAUS Christmas cards featuring art by Mora. At the $500 SIGNED SLIPCASE HARDCOVER & DELUXE MERCHANDISE SET tier, we add a special variant edition of KLAUS #1, featuring Kickstarter-exclusive cover art by Dan Mora and limited to just 150 copies (making this one of the rarest editions of Klaus ever produced!). But that’s not the only thing that makes this tier super limited, because we also add a color variant of the 18" x 36" silkscreen poster that will come signed by both Grant Morrison and Dan Mora and is also strictly limited to 150 copies.
