How will we receive our digital rewards?

If we unlock our first Stretch Goal, then within 72 hours of the campaign’s close on December 15th, we will make the digital holiday cards available via a backer-only campaign update, which will include a secure download link.

Digital PDF editions of THE COMPLETE KLAUS KLAUS DELUXE EDITION will be distributed by BackerKit, our fulfillment partner, directly to the email address to which your order is registered in November 2023.

Will these rewards be exclusive to Kickstarter backers?

For the immediate future, every component of this campaign is wholly Kickstarter exclusive and we do not intend to ever make any of the campaign’s non-hardcover rewards available in unlimited quantities ever again. A simplified version of THE COMPLETE KLAUS DELUXE EDITION HC (without clothbound covers, inset art, and other pre-order only enhancements) will be offered for sale at a later date in traditional comic shop and bookstore channels. However, rest assured that Kickstarter backers will receive their copies first and that this is the first and only chance to make sure your limited-edition copy is reserved and accounted for via pre-order.

What will the shipping costs be?

Shipping will be charged via BackerKit after the end of the campaign. See our Shipping & Fulfillment section in our Campaign Page for details. These costs are estimates based on the information currently available and will be charged through BackerKit, our fulfillment partner who will communicate the best shipping rates available to us at that time.

Why am I being charged an additional amount for international customs?

Customs are the sovereign law of a country on imports or exports (https://help.kickstarter.com/hc/en-us/articles/1260805506049-Why-am-I-being-asked-to-pay-customs-fees-for-my-reward-). Any duties, taxes, and customs clearance fees that may be levied on a reward as a result will be the responsibility of the backer.

Please note that Total Shipping costs reflect the total you will pay for shipping and handling for your reward(s). For international orders, please note that your country might have additional VAT fees or customs duties for which BOOM! will not collect in advance. You will be 100% responsible for any of those fees should they be applied, and BOOM! will not refund any international orders that are refused due to VAT or customs fees beyond our control.

When and where do I provide my shipping info?

Once the project is successfully funded, we will reach out with a survey via BackerKit to request all of the information needed to fulfill your rewards, including your shipping address. We will post updates on the campaign as surveys become available.

I have moved since the campaign was completed. How do I update my mailing address?

In Your BackerKit Account Click ‘Settings’ at the top of the page, and then click ‘Update Address’ - this will update your shipping details for all of your unlocked surveys.

On Your Survey To update your shipping information, click on your BackerKit survey confirmation link that was sent to your email. If you need this link to resent, please go to our survey recovery page here.

If your address is open, you will be able to see and click ‘Edit Shipping Info’ to update your shipping details. To update the country or state, please contact support for assistance. Since project creators charged different shipping rates depending on the country/state, only our admin team can update this information. Pro-tip: Some backers are able to get their country and state to change by updating their Zip Code!

Please note: We will issue multiple notices when fulfillment for this campaign is imminent. If you fail to update your address before your rewards are shipped and they are delivered to an incorrect or previous address, BOOM! will be unable to refund or replace your order, due to the limited quantities manufactured and expense incurred in doing so. You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of your own address and mailing information in order to receive your purchase.

When will I be charged for my pledge?

After the Kickstarter campaign ends, Kickstarter will charge you for your pledged amount. If there are any problems with your payment method, Kickstarter will reach out to you to have the issue corrected and your payment charged.

Any add-ons or upgrades added to your pre-order after the Kickstarter campaign ends during the survey period will be charged through BackerKit.

I used my Apple ID and did not receive my survey. What can I do?

Please email us at [email protected] with your full name and backer #. Apple ID does not recognize Kickstarter, and is a known issue. If possible, please try another email address. This campaign is taking too long for fulfillment and I would like a refund. What is your refund policy?

Due to the nature of this pre-order campaign, we are unable to offer refunds. All of the items described within this campaign are extremely limited in nature and expensive to produce. As such, once your order is received, we will be unable to process a refund. BOOM! does everything within its power to ensure timely shipping and comply with originally estimated fulfillment dates, although those can and frequently do change based on a variety of real-world factors (including manufacturing and shipping delays) beyond the company’s control. Additionally, Kickstarter cannot process payments or refunds once your credit card has expired.

I’m a comic shop owner, independent bookstore owner, or other retailer. Can I get the Kickstarter editions for my store?

Yes! Any retail partner who wishes to carry the Kickstarter products in their store can contact us directly about purchasing these items at wholesale. Please contact us directly at [email protected] to inquire about wholesale pricing options.

This project looks great and is already funded! Does that mean the writer, artist, colorist, letterer, and rest of the creative team will be seeing page rate increases or proper profit participation for their contributions to the project?

Like the rest of the Kickstarter community, BOOM! cares deeply about fair compensation for creative talent. As such, the creators involved in the making of A VERY KLAUS CHRISTMAS will all be receiving industry-standard royalties based on sales of their work, including those made through this pre-order campaign. This is in addition to the rates they were paid when the work was first commissioned. In other words, the creative talent will benefit directly from your support of this campaign.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
